Authenticate a Mailchimp sending domain without changing where normal mailbox email is delivered.

Protect existing servicesMailchimp domain authentication normally adds DKIM and DMARC records. It does not require replacing your mailbox MX records.

  1. Sign in to your SaaSTech Servers Domain Portfolio External · opens new tab ↗.
  2. Select the individual domain to open its Domain Settings page.
  3. Select DNS.

Verify the sending address

In Mailchimp, verify an email address at the domain you intend to authenticate, then open the Domains area for that domain.

Start manual authentication

Choose Start Authentication and select the manual setup. Keep Mailchimp's record screen open because the DKIM hosts and values are account-specific.Official Mailchimp guideExternal · opens new tab ↗

Back up and check for conflicts

Save the zone, then check whether records already exist at either DKIM host or the _dmarc host before adding anything.Back Up Your DNSSaaSTech guide →

Publish two DKIM CNAME records

Copy both CNAME hosts and targets exactly as Mailchimp displays them. Do not combine, shorten, or substitute values.

Publish the DMARC record

Add the TXT value Mailchimp displays at _dmarc. If DMARC already exists, review and update the one existing record rather than creating a duplicate.

Authenticate and test

Return to Mailchimp and run authentication. Mailchimp notes recognition can take up to 48 hours. Send a campaign test and confirm DKIM and DMARC pass.
